Application, class and laboratory fees and enrollment deposits are not refundable.

Tuition Refunds- Refunds will be made according to the following schedule.

  • Students who are registered for 16-week classes and withdraw within the first two weeks of scheduled classes are not charged tuition. If a student withdraws for any reason after the first two weeks of a 16-week semester, the student is responsible for the full charges of the semester.
  • Students who are registered for 7-week classes and withdraw on or within the first seven days of class are not charged tuition. If a student withdraws for any reason after the first seven days of a 7-week semester, the student is responsible for the full charges of the term.
  • Students who are registered for a 5-week summer class and withdraw on or before the first scheduled class meeting day of the course are not charged tuition. If a student withdraws for any reason after the first day of scheduled classes, the student is responsible for the full charges of the term. Students who are pre-registered and decide not to attend the University of Charleston must contact the Student Solutions Center to have his or her name removed from course rosters. The date and time of this communication will determine the amount of tuition that will be charged. A student dismissed for disciplinary reasons will receive no refund of any charges, except for board and room, which would be proportionate to the number of days of the term remaining after the university ID is surrendered.
