The Innovation Scholars program is a highly competitive, prestigious team of students at the University of Charleston. We equip top-tier students with the science, discipline, and real-world innovation skills necessary to drive meaningful change.
As an Innovation Scholar, you won’t just sit in a classroom. You will join a mission to spark creativity across the entire state, mastering advanced technology and competing along the way.
The Scholar Advantage
- Drive Statewide Impact: Take the lead in expanding our Innovation Labs to high schools across all 55 West Virginia counties, inspiring the next generation of changemakers.
- Launch Real-World Projects: Design and execute a signature innovation project in the community before you graduate.
- Pitch and Compete: Pitch your ideas and compete at premier showcases and business competitions, including the i3 Innovation Showcase and FBLA nationals.
- Earn Professional Credentials: Graduate with industry-relevant certifications that give you an undeniable edge over your peers using our Udemy training access.
Scholarship & Eligibility
Investment in your potential includes up to $20,000 annually in total financial support (combining the $3,000/year Innovation Scholarship with UC Academic awards).
Requirements to Apply:
- High School GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- An interview with the Innovation Scholar directors and student leaders.
