The Innovation Center was created as a space for creation, collaboration, studying, invention and group events.
UC students are welcome to utilize its computer lab, technology, study spaces and classrooms. It is a great space to read, review class notes, prepare for a presentation, and to hang out with friends.
The Innovation Center is on two floors. The first floor includes individual and small group seating, study areas, 9-monitor video wall, smart board area and front desk.
The second floor contains classroom space, the Maker Lab, One Button Studio, iMac lab, and offices.
The Center is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to Midnight, and Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to Midnight
The first floor can be used for individual and small study groups without a reservation. Please be courteous if there are other groups already using the spaces.
For meetings and other events, students and community organizations can reserve spaces in the Innovation Center (including the atrium), by emailing David Ramsburg at davidramsburg@ucwv.edu with name of group, size of group, date and time needed. *Please note: Due to Coronavirus Regulations, events will not be held on campus until further notice.
After 5:00 p.m., students can use the 2nd floor spaces without a reservation – but they should first check to make sure that nothing else is scheduled for the space. (Accessing the Center after 5:00 p.m. requires a check in at the front desk on the first floor.)
Food and drinks are allowed, but those using the facility are asked to please clean up after themselves.
- The entire space is monitored by security cameras.
- After 5:00 p.m. we ask that everyone enter and exit only through the 1st floor entrances.
- Please do not open the doors for others trying to enter after 5:00 p.m. on the 2nd floor. It is important that everyone enter on the 1st floor and sign in.
Yes, if they have been trained and know how to use the technology, we welcome students to use it. The exception to this is the 3-D printers – their use is only for specific students and faculty with permission to use them.
