Credit for Prior Learning

You can submit evidence of having met outcomes required by your major through life and/or work experience. If you demonstrate such achievement, you are not required to take courses covering the mastered content, and may receive college credit.

Prior learning may be demonstrated by:

  • Advanced Placement (AP) examinations
  • College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
  • Credit by examination
  • Self-Acquired Competency (SAC)
  • American Council on Education (ACE)
  • International Baccalaureate Degree
  • Joint Services Transcript (JST)
  • Community College of the Air Force (CCAF)
  • European Patterned Education
  • Educational Experiences in the Armed Services

 

 

Earn Credit Through Experiences and Opportunities

UC students can also take advantage of a variety of programs – some offered within a specific major, and some offered to all students – that have opportunities to help them broaden their knowledge, improve skill in a certain level, and earn academic credit. (Prior permission is required for credit to be considered.)
