The University of Charleston’s organizational leadership program, offered through the School of Leadership and Professional Development, will help you develop your knowledge and skills in such vital areas as critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making.
You’ll learn from a dedicated faculty whose members share a wealth of professional experience along with academic qualifications, giving them a unique perspective on the nature and dynamics of organizations.
The bachelor’s in leadership is an accelerated degree completion program designed for working adults. The convenient format combines once-a-week class meetings, weekly online chats, group projects, and individual assignments, allowing you to complete 48 semester hours in about 18 months.
Each semester consists of a series of three courses taken in sequence and a practicum that is integrated throughout the semester. This approach lets you focus your energy and attention on a single subject while still qualifying as a full-time student for financial aid purposes.
Optional Focused Concentrations
While the principles of the organizational leadership program are relevant to any field, optional concentrations in criminal justice administration and hospitality leadership can help you focus the program’s principles on a specific area. Both concentrations are available online and in classroom settings.
Application and Admission
Applicants must meet UC’s admission requirements and have 40 hours of qualifying transfer credit as well as two years of work experience. Applicants who do not meet these requirements are considered on a case-by-case basis.
If you do not have sufficient qualifying transfer credit, or if you need additional general education or elective credit, you can take advantage of UC’S convenient learning options. The possibilities include general education tracks, online courses, independent study, and credit for prior learning.
