    Through dynamic "real world" innovative learning applications, our students learn to bring new ideas and energy as leaders to solve leadership and organizational challenges.

    A convenient format combining online meetings, facilitated weekly discussions, team projects, and individual assignments.

    Each 16-week semester consists of a series of 4 eight-week courses. This approach lets you focus your energy and attention to only two courses at a time.

    About ORGL

    Graduates will be prepared to successfully lead teams and departments in a wide array of business and organizations in the private and public sector and apply leadership styles in various contexts.


    What You'll Learn

    You will gain the skills and knowledge to apply leadership skills to communicate with a variety of audiences in various contexts and implement effective approaches to organizational change. Our smaller, cohort based classes allow you to network with other leaders and Evaluate your own performance for self-improvement. The program emphasizes real world innovative leadership application.


    Admission Requirements

    • The University of Charleston’s Organizational Leadership program is a bachelor of science degree completion program specifically designed for working adults.
    • Students must gain general admission to the University of Charleston
    • Entrance to the ORGL program requires students to have previously completed 40 semester credit hours or the equivalent work-related experience/education. Applicants who do not meet these requirements are considered on a case-by-case basis.
    • If you do not have sufficient qualifying transfer credit, or if you need additional general education or elective credit, you can take advantage of UC’s convenient learning options. The possibilities include general education tracks, online courses, independent study, and credit for prior learning.
    • The courses are delivered in a convenient format combining online meetings, facilitated weekly discussions, team projects, and individual assignments.
    • Students learn from a dedicated, understanding faculty whose members share a wealth of professional experience, providing you with a unique perspective on the real aspects and dynamics of today’s complex organizations.
    • Pending how many credits are transferred in, this configuration allows a student to complete 48 semester hours in 18 months or less. Students can transfer in up to ninety (90) credit hours.
    • In addition to the ORGL classes, students can participate in several different leadership concentrations which emphasize such fields as First Responder /Criminal Justice and Healthcare Leadership.
    • Offered completely online and in hybrid formats.
