If you aren’t on a UC team (or even if you are), Intramural Sports and Dorm Wars are a great opportunity to have fun, meet other UC students and get a little exercise.

Intramural Sports

The Intramural Sports Program provides all students, faculty and staff opportunities to participate in a range of sports and activities while at the University of Charleston.

Activities are offered for men, women, and coed teams and include basketball, flag football, soccer, and broomball.

Dorm Wars

A UC tradition, Dorm Wars was created to encourage team building and a sense of community among residents of each of our residence halls. It’s also a great way to get to know your fellow dorm residents.

Whether you are a runner, a Monopoly tycoon, an artist, or have dreams of entering America’s Got Talent, there is a competition for you.

In addition to bragging rights and the highly coveted Dorm Wars trophy, teams are rewarded for sportsmanship. And while competition can get intense – tug of war can be very exciting – it’s a lot of fun for students participating and those cheering on their dorms.

Please note: During the current pandemic, intramural sports activities will be managed to comply with physical distancing guidelines and athletics best practices.

Dorm Wars events include:

  • 5k Race
  • Chess
  • Soccer
  • Corn Hole
  • Ping Pong
  • Flag Football
  • Monopoly
  • Billiards
  • Basketball
  • Creation of Residence Hall Banners
  • Tug O’ War
  • Lip Sync Competition
  • Closing Ceremony
  • Cookout on the Lawn
