Welcome to the 2023 i3 Competition!

i3 stands for Ideas, Innovation, and Invention. i3 is a celebration dedicated to sharing innovative ideas, products, services, research, case studies, and works of art. So, join us for this celebration where we will reward students, faculty, and staff for sharing their ideas, innovation, and inventions!

This year’s event was a hybrid format consisting of 5-minute video presentations and posters that were displayed in The UC Commons. Finalists from the student division were selected from each category to compete for a grand prize during a live, in-person event on April 17th.

 

 

i3 2023 Winners

Note: For categories with less than 5 entries, prize money may be reduced. Participants will be notified prior to the event date if this occurs.

Student Categories

 

Innovative Product, Process, Service or Project:  Competitors in this category should be prepared to present a 5-minute pitch that describes an idea for an innovative product, process, service, or project. Identify the target customer for the innovation and explain how the innovation will benefit the user. If the innovation can be turned into a business, explain the profit potential based on current information.

 

Innovative Work of Art, Design, Performance or Creation:  Entrants in this category should be prepared to present an original creation and either perform or describe that creation.  The performance and/or description of the creation should be limited to 5 minutes.

Research:  Entrants in this category should be prepared to present and defend a 5-minute presentation based on a research project.

Case Study:  Entrants in this category should be prepared to present and defend a 5-minute presentation based on a case study project.
