Fees Associated with Distance Learning Most fees will be the same as those for the traditional in-seat program as students in the traditional program must have or have access to the same technology requirements as those in the bridge program. School of Pharmacy Tuition & Fees

2023-24 Doctorate of Pharmacy

  • $35,926 per year
  • Student fees:
    • $1,700 for first, second, and third professional years
    • $1,500 for the fourth professional year

Included within the fees:

  • Student Learning Technology Fee includes a MacBook to enhance classroom, practical, co-curricular learning, and patient interaction. Students keep their computer upon graduation
  • Annual Membership to one professional pharmacy organization of your choice
  • Annual opportunities to apply for monies to travel and/or present at local, regional and national conferences
  • Specially designed co-curricular experiences designed to complement the didactic curriculum
  • Access to key library resources and search engines to optimize learning and research
  • Certification in Immunizations, Point of Care Testing, Medication Therapy Management, and Oncology

 

Upon admission, a NON-REFUNDABLE tuition deposit of $500 is required to reserve your seat in the class. The deposit may be paid in two payments. $250 is due two weeks after receipt of an invitation for admission and the remaining $250 is due on or before May 1st.

  • The provision of the non-refundable tuition deposit guarantees your position in the School of Pharmacy

 

Applicants applying by the November 1st Priority Deadline will receive a $100 discount on their early tuition deposit. Applicants interviewing on campus will also receive a $100 tuition deposit discount. Applicants who apply by November 1st and interview on campus will receive a $200 discount.

 

Credit Hours & Financial Aid

An admitted student must have earned 72 credit hours of combined pre-professional and graduate coursework to be eligible to receive graduate-level federal financial aid. Applicants with less than 72 credit hours will be packaged at the undergraduate level for financial aid purposes until they acquire 72 credit hours. Students who are close to 72 credit hours may wish to take extra courses in the spring or summer prior to starting the program to count towards the minimum credit hour level for graduate-level federal financial aid.

Merit Scholarships

Your hard work is about to pay off. We are excited to announce that the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy is now awarding scholarships based on your grades. These scholarships are renewable each year with successful progression in the program.

  • 3.80 – 4.00 – $6,000 annually ($24,000 over 4 years)
  • 3.50 – 3.79 – $5,000 annually ($20,000 over 4 years)
  • 3.00 – 3.49 – $4,000 annually ($16,000 over 4 years)
  • Below 3.00 – $3,000 annually ($12,000 over 4 years)

The standard undergraduate tuition rate does not apply to students who matriculate into the UCPAP. The following table outlines the expected total of PA program tuition and fees based on the rate of tuition and estimated fees that will be applied for the 2023-2024 academic year. It should be noted that tuition and fees can change from year to year subject to economic influences, the needs of the University, and needs of the Program.   • Payment: Payment for tuition and fees for all courses within a semester are due at the beginning of the semester.
  • Application Fee: For each application cycle, prospective candidates may be charged a $50 application fee which is nonrefundable. This fee is waived for current UC students.
  • Enrollment (Seat) Deposit: All applicants accepted into the program will be charged a $1,000 nonrefundable seat deposit to hold their seat. This money will be applied toward tuition upon matriculation.
  • Due dates for the seat deposit are as follows:
    • Accepted prior to November 1st: Due within two weeks of acceptance.
    • Accepted from November 1st to December 1st: Due within 1 week of acceptance.
    • Accepted from December 1st to January 1st: Due within 3 days.

Credit Hours & Financial Aid

An admitted student must have earned 91 credit hours of combined pre-professional and graduate coursework to be eligible to receive graduate level federal financial aid. Applicants with less than 91 credit hours will be packaged at the undergraduate level
for financial aid purposes until they acquire 91 credit hours. Students that are close to 91 credits may wish to take extra courses in the spring or summer prior to starting the program to count towards the minimum credit hour level for graduate level
federal financial aid.

Regional Scholarship

With our Regional Tuition Scholarship, your address can actually lower your tuition. If you live in the following regions, you are eligible for a scholarship of $4750 per year.

The standard undergraduate tuition rate does not apply to students who matriculate into the UCPAP. The following table outlines the expected total PA program tuition and fees based on the rate of tuition and estimated fees that will be applied for the 2019-2020 academic year. It should be noted that tuition and fees can change from year to year subject to economic influences, the needs of the University, and needs of the Program. Other university service fees may also apply (e.g. parking, activity fee, graduation).

  • Payment: Payment for tuition and fees for all courses within a semester are due at the beginning of the semester.
  • Application Fee: For each application cycle prospective candidates will be charged a $50 application fee which is nonrefundable. This fee is waived for current UC students.
  • Enrollment Deposit: All applicants accepted into the program will be charged a $500 nonrefundable deposit to hold their seat. A second deposit of $500 is due on November 1. This money will be applied toward their first semester tuition upon matriculation.
  • Refunds: All program fees are nonrefundable. Tuition refunds are made as follows (applies to all semesters):
    • A 100% refund will be provided to students who withdraw by the first day of scheduled classes for the term less the nonrefundable tuition deposit(s).
    • A 90% refund will be provided to students who withdraw on the second and third calendar day of scheduled classes.
    • A 50% refund will be provided to students who withdraw on the fourth, fifth, and sixth calendar day of scheduled classes.
    • No refunds will be provided to students who withdraw after the sixth day of scheduled classes.
