Welcome to the UC Honors College, a community of innovative scholars who enter the university with evidence of exemplary high school and/or college achievement. Through the Honors College, students will develop as leaders, completing scholarly pursuits and high levels of community engagement beyond the typical graduate.

Honors College members live together in the same residence hall in the Honors Living Learning Community.

If you are applying to a UC accredited program, through the Honors College you will be eligible for direct admission to our professional programs, including radiology, nursing, education, physician assistant, School of Pharmacy.

And when you graduate, you will have many resume-enhancing experiences, as well as a portfolio of projects to show potential employers.

Why apply for the Honors College?

As a UC Honors College student, you’ll have the opportunity for intensive, applied studies and coursework with an emphasis on experiential learning. As a member of the Honors College, you’ll also:

  • Participate in the Freshman Honors College Seminar
  • Be a part of our Interdisciplinary Academies: Innovative Leadership, Community Development, Intellectual Discovery and Global Awareness
  • Choose from a wide range of classes with honors opportunities
  • Work with UC faculty one-on-one on special projects

Taylor Honors College

Who Qualifies?

To qualify for the Honors College, you must have a high school GPA of 3.8 or higher, 26 ACT or 1230 SAT, demonstrated community engagement and a successful interview with a member of the Honors College faculty.

Criteria for Acceptance

Incoming freshmen and transfer students who meet the entrance criteria are invited to apply. A second-semester freshman or transfer student with evidence of exemplary first-semester work may petition the program directors for admission into the program.

 

For First Time Freshmen:

  • 3.8 High School GPA (weighted or unweighted)
  • 26 ACT or 1230 Redesigned SAT
  • Demonstrated exceptional community activism or engagement
  • Complete a personal interview

 

Current First Year UC Students:

You may also join the Honors College after a successful first semester at UC with successful completion of 15 or more credits with a cumulative 3.8 GPA


Transfer Students:

You may also be eligible for admission to the Honors College with completion of 15 or more credits with a cumulative 3.8 GPA earned at a previous institution.
