Job Summary:

Reporting to the Provost, the Director of Institutional Research manages the university’s collection and use of data to facilitate data-informed, strategic decision-making.

The IR Director provides information concerning trends in student enrollment and ability and responds to regular and ad-hoc requests for information needed to complete

reports for internal needs and external agencies.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as IPEDS key holder
  • Calculates graduation and retention rates
  • Compiles enrollment statistics
  • Furnishes information to administration that is helpful in determining policy
  • Provides student data for NSSE, Ruffalo Noel Levitz, and other student surveys.
  • Completes surveys for Peterson’s, US News, College Board, Higher Education Policy Commission, and similar publications and organizations
  • Provides institutional data for HLC and program accreditation reports
  • Determines validity of internal assessment scales
  • Compiles statistics of student satisfaction, success, and retention
  • Provides information from trend data useful in marketing the academic programs of the institution
  • Performs data analysis of regularly used assessment instruments and provides suggested feedback for faculty to give to students
  • Provides data on institutional benchmarks – student progress, enrollment, retention, institutional dashboard, and academic program dashboards
  • Provides data for external grant applications and grant management
  • Other duties as may be assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Statistical Analysis                    3 Years
  • Administrative Experience          3 Years
  • Ability to extract data from a variety of sources
  • Ability to develop statistical data to communicate results
  • Ability to determine educational programmatic needs
  • Ability to make recommendations for change in programming for admissions, retention, and customer service
  • High level proficiency in Excel and Power BI
