Position Summary:

This is a full-time faculty position at the assistant/associate professor level in the University of Charleston’s School of Business. The position focuses on quantitative methods courses in business, such as statistics and business analytics. The primary role is to support several undergraduate business majors but also includes the possibility of teaching in one or more business graduate programs. The position reports to the Dean of the School of Business.

Essential Responsibilities:

Position responsibilities include most or all of the following:

  • Teaching in-seat and online undergraduate business courses in quantitative methods for business and economics, business analytics, and/or other undergraduate business majors depending on academic qualifications and enrollment demand
  • Teaching in-seat and online graduate business courses in quantitative methods for the MBA and MSBDA programs
  • Academic advising of students enrolled in School of Business programs
  • Scholarly activity consistent with expectations for hiring and promotion of faculty at an ACBSP-accredited school
  • University service in the form of committee membership and participation in shared institutional governance
  • Other faculty duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Energy, enthusiasm, and excellence in teaching with preference for candidates with pertinent experience in developing and teaching courses in multiple modalities (in-seat, hybrid, online)
  • Academic and professional background providing expertise in quantitative courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level
  • Record of applied scholarship
  • Ability to engage students in their professional and career preparation
  • Willingness to actively engage in service to the university, school, and community
