Katie has been working as a pediatric occupational therapist for the past 14 years in both pediatric outpatient and early intervention settings.  She was instrumental in the development and launch of UC’s accredited MSOT program.  Her focus within the program is on teaching pediatric coursework, but in addition to her teaching responsibilities she is also the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, supporting students throughout their clinical education including the placement process.  Katie’s professional interests include early identification of cerebral palsy, assistive technology, infant feeding, maternal mental wellness, and trauma-informed care, as well as the preparation of future healthcare professionals to address the holistic needs of children and families.  Concerning these topics, she has presented multiple times at the WVOTA conference and more recently at the state’s EveryChild NOW conference.
