Professor Madeleine Long grew up in San Diego, CA and moved to West Virginia for PA school in 2018. She graduated from the UC PA Program in 2021 then pursued a career as a cardiology PA for the last 3 years. Prior to PA school, Professor Long obtained clinical experience working in a cardiology practice in La Jolla, CA for 2 years as a medical assistant. Since graduation, she has continued to stay involved with the UC PA program as an adjunct professor prior to joining the core faculty. She is excited about the opportunity to help students become competent and caring providers. One of her primary areas of interest is PA involvement in underserved communities as well as improving patient health literacy to encourage better patient outcomes. She hopes to show the same passion for education and patient centered care to her students that was shown to her during her time in this program. In her free time, professor Long continues to explore her new home of WV with her husband and 2 boys, Camden and Carson.
