Dr. Katie Everson is a professor in the Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy Program. With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Everson specializes in mental health and pediatric therapy, emphasizing the importance of play and trauma-informed care principles in clinical and academic practice. She earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Bay Path University in Massachusetts where her research focused on innovative therapeutic interventions for children and adults who have experienced complex trauma.

Dr. Everson is passionate about integrating evidence-based practices into her teaching, inspiring students to think critically and creatively. She actively engages in community outreach, providing workshops for families and educators, and is committed to promoting awareness of occupational therapy’s role in enhancing quality of life.

In addition to her teaching and clinical work, Dr. Everson has presented at the AOTA Children and Youth Conference and is a mentor for students completing their doctoral research. Her research areas of interest include pelvic and women’s health, mental health, sensory processing, and emerging practice areas.
