David Ramsburg, MBA

David Ramsburg holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from WVU and spent his early career designing repeater technologies for the cellular and satellite radio industries, as well as Bluetooth chip sets. David later joined a start-up wireless company in Virginia where he served as the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) coordinator and project manager, building the company’s intellectual property portfolio and leading them to SBIR grant win rates 4 times the national average. After earning an MBA from Duke University, David went on to manage several multi-million-dollar expeditionary broadband communications research and design programs for the US Dept. of Defense and US Dept. of Justice among other agencies.

In addition to his work in the tech industry, David has started and managed multiple businesses. Coming from an entrepreneurial family, he has been involved in several family-owned businesses and has worked as a consultant to several others.

Since 2014, David has turned his professional focus toward educating, coaching, and mentoring entrepreneurs. He has served as a business coach for the WV Small Business Development Center, Assistant Director of the WVU LaunchLab network, and is now Executive Director of Innovation at the University of Charleston with responsibility for both the Wehrle Innovation Center and the UC Downtown Innovation Hub.
