I have an extensive background in Law Enforcement, Crisis Management, Corporate Accounting, Labor Law and (of course) Leadership. I hold degrees from Temple University (B.S. Accounting/Law), Mountain State University (M.S.S.L. Strategic Leadership) and the FBI National Academy (University of Virginia – Behavioral Science/Terrorism) as well as numerous certifications in FEMA, EMT and CBRNE doctrines.
With 30+ years of Law Enforcement and government experience, I have a true understanding of our first responder community including our military service members.
I am currently a Law Enforcement Special Agent (OPS). Additionally, as Chief of Police, I commanded the largest police agency in the County of Chester and have worked in every aspect of the policing mission from patrol to investigations to SWAT to community policing to administration. I formulated, administered and oversaw an $11M government operating budget and a $30M pension fund.
I am the Past President and Past Chairman of the Chester County Chiefs of Police Association, Past President of the Delaware Valley Police Professionals Association of Pennsylvania and former President of the FBI National Academy Associates (EPA). Currently, a committee member and active member of many professional organizations including: The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), The FBI National Academy Associates (FBI NAA), The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Florida Police Chiefs Association (FPCA), National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), Florida Sheriffs Association, and others.
In the realm of emergency operations, I was appointed by the governor to act as the municipal emergency management coordinator (EMC) for our government subdivision. Additionally, as both an EMT-B and EMT lead trainer at the Chester County Department of Emergency Services Training Center, I gained a true appreciation for all facets of the responder community.
Published articles include: FBI National Academy Magazine and other professional law enforcement journals centering upon “Crisis Leadership” and “Emergency Management”.
