Admitted Students
I'm accepted - now what?
Let’s Make it Official
We can’t wait to welcome you into the UC community, but first things first – it’s time to pay your enrollment deposit. This will trigger several things to get you started on your journey to becoming a Golden Eagle.
Now What?
UC Email and Log In Credentials– Within two (2) business days of paying your enrollment deposit, you will receive an email from UC IT (uccredentials@ucwv.edu) with instructions for logging in to the UC Portal and activating your UC email. This email will be sent to the personal email address you used for your admissions application. If you do not receive this email within 2 days of paying your deposit, first check your spam or junk folder. If it is not there, contact itsupport@ucwv.edu to alert them.
Class Schedules– After your UC credentials are created, we’ll be able to register you for your first UC classes. Fall registration begins in March, and Spring registration begins in October. Depending on your academic program and your degree level (undergraduate or graduate), your schedule will be built by your First-Year Student Advisor (FSA) or your Academic Advisor. You’ll receive communication from Debbie Bannister, Director of Student Success and First Year Our Director of First Year Experience, or your Academic Advisor with information about how to view your schedule and to discuss any change you may need to make.
Housing– If you will be living on campus, you will need to complete a housing application. And if you are a Charleston undergraduate student not living on campus, you’ll need to complete a housing exemption form. These forms will be available in the myUC portal two (2) business days after you are registered for classes. Visit our housing page to find out about our home-away-from living options. Remember that housing assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis, so early deposits and registrations are the best way to have the most housing options.
SOAR– If you are a Charleston undergraduate student beginning in the fall semester, make plans to attend Summer Orientation, Advising and Registration(SOAR). At SOAR, you will meet with an advisor to go over your class schedule, have your student ID made, tour campus, and hear from UC students about the student experience here. Our Financial Aid team will be available to assist you with any questions you have about your aid package, and our Student Accounts office will assist you with payment plans. You have several dates to choose from (and we encourage you to bring your parents as well).
If you are a new online, Beckley, or graduate student, don’t worry! Our enrollment team will guide you through all of our processes and have you ready to be successful from day one.
New Student Orientation –During the weekend before the fall semester, freshman and transfer students will have orientation programs scheduled to enable them to integrate quickly into UC life. During Orientation students will begin their University 104 or 204 course, socialize and meet their classmates, and also meet many of our returning students.Orientation Information.
Congratulations on your acceptance – we’re looking forward to seeing you on campus!
