Grill Cook
Food Service & Catering, University of Charleston
Primary Functions:
- Responsible for customer service, food preparation, cooking to customer’s order, and cleanliness of the dining location.
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cook and prepare menu items to customer’s order
 - Preparation of other food items directed by General Manager or Chef
 - Maintains proper grill cooking temperatures
 - Ensures proper sanitation of grill area and surrounding kitchen
 - Uses proper portioning
 - Answers customer questions accurately on menu items
 - Restocks and cleans up grill station at end of service period
 - Other duties as required and assigned
 
Requirements:
- Able to read, write and perform basic math
 - Able to follow verbal and written instructions
 - Must be customer-oriented, organized and detail oriented
 - Able to occasionally lift 30 pounds
 - Must be able to move through the kitchen/grill area to retrieve/gather supplies and equipment
 - Bending, standing, moving, carrying, writing, lifting, reaching
 - High standard of personal hygiene
