Commencement to Take Place December 11, 2021, at 10:00 am

Charleston, W.Va. – The University of Charleston’s December Commencement will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, in the Wehrle Athletic Arena, housed in the Innovation Center.

There will be about 200 graduates participating in the ceremony. Some of those students graduated in 2020, when the university was forced to hold a virtual ceremony due to coronavirus safety precautions. All students who participated in that ceremony were invited to return this year to experience a live graduation.

The graduates represent the Charleston campus, Beckley location, and online students. Of the graduates, 136 will receive an undergraduate degree and 66 will receive a graduate degree.

The commencement speaker will be Dr. Sherri Young, associate chief medical officer of CAMC and clinical leader for the WV Health Network, who will also receive an honorary degree.
