The inaugural UC Marathon, presented by United Bank, marked the return of a full marathon to Charleston for the first time in nearly 30 years, welcoming 785 runners from 40 states and three countries to the Capital City for a memorable race weekend.

Hosted by the University of Charleston in partnership with the City of Charleston and the Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau, the event delivered an unforgettable race weekend and established what is poised to become a signature tradition for both the city and the UC campus.

University of Charleston Honors College students played an important role in bringing the UC Marathon to life, helping plan, promote, and execute the event. Proceeds from the race support the Honors College and will help fund future opportunities for scholars and leaders.

Spilman Thomas & Battle served as the Spaghetti Dinner Sponsor, Vandalia Health  provided medical services throughout race weekend, and WOWK-TV, captured the excitement as the official media partner, highlighting the event before, during, and after race day.
