Assistant or Associate Professor & Program Director – Sport Business, Sport Analytics, & Sport Media

The School of Business and Leadership at the University of Charleston invites applications from dynamic faculty leaders to serve as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Business and Program Director in our well-established major in sport business and two innovative new majors in sport analytics and sport media.

Reporting directly to the Dean of the School of Business and Leadership, we seek an energetic and highly collaborative faculty colleague with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, applied scholarship, and the recruitment and retention of students.

The position’s primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in the sport business curriculum, supervising instructional faculty, academic advising, curriculum development, program assessment, serving on departmental and university committees, and collaborating with administrative offices to promote marketing and admission initiatives. This 9-month faculty appointment will begin in August 2023.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Sport Management, Business Administration, or sport-related discipline;  Ph.D. preferred.
  • Theoretical and applied knowledge in the field of Sport Management
  • Relevant teaching and professional experience
  • Experience with managing internships and academic programs
  • Commitment to excellence in undergraduate business education, active learning, and student success.
  • Possession of pertinent professional certifications is a plus
