Program Overview
Earn your Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of Charleston and prepare for a rewarding career in health and wellness. As chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and obesity continue to rise, the demand for skilled professionals in nutrition and dietetics is growing. Our undergraduate nutrition program combines a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and food science with hands-on learning and real-world applications.
Students will explore the connection between nutrition, disease prevention, and lifestyle health, gaining the knowledge and skills to assess dietary needs, design nutrition plans, and promote public health in clinical, community, and global settings. It has a broad biology and chemistry component to enable students to understand how nutrition affects the body. It can also open the door to diverse opportunities in public health, sports, the food industry, and even opportunities in nutrition communications.
