The UC Education program has achieved full accreditation from the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP). Following the organization’s site visit in March, the program’s initial accreditation status was confirmed on June 7, obtaining accreditation for the full seven years.

Accreditation signifies that a program prepares effective educators who continue to grow as professionals and have demonstrated the commitment and capacity to continue to do so.

AAQEP is a national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. The AAQEP system is based on four standards that establish clear expectations for quality and frame opportunities for inquiry and improvement: candidate/completer performance, quality program practices, completer professional competence and growth, and program engagement in system improvement.

UC team members who participated in the process included Susan Divita, Education Program Director; Jason Cheek, Sarah Gallagher, and Sydney Hughes, all instrumental team members.
