26 to Represent UC at Undergraduate Research Day
Undergraduate Research Day Coming Up
Charleston, WV – February 17 — Each year, Undergraduate Research Day at the WV State Capitol showcases the exceptional work being done by undergraduate students from colleges and universities across West Virginia. This meaningful academic experience gives students the opportunity to present their research and creative work, highlighting the real-world impact of their work.
Participating in URD not only showcases the students’ academic accomplishments but also strengthens essential skills such as communication, professionalism, and civic engagement. Students will present their work to state leaders and policymakers, showing firsthand the critical return on investment that higher education provides, while giving students the empowering experience of seeing their work influence broader conversations about the state’s future.
UC will be well represented this year, with 26 Golden Eagles presenting their research across a broad range of disciplines – including biochemistry, chemistry, nursing, education, science, social science, and psychology.
Sarah Tucker, Chancellor of Higher Education at the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, stated, “The research presented demonstrates how student innovation contributes to workforce readiness, economic growth, and a stronger future for West Virginia.”
