UC Blood Drive

The University of Charleston will once again compete against West Virginia State University in a “Blood Drive Battle” to help the American Red Cross. Twice a year, the two schools compete to see which school can donate the most blood.

The University of Charleston will hold its drive on Monday, February 19, and Tuesday, February 20, in the Appalachian Room of the Geary Student Union from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on both days.

The winner of the battle (based on the number of donors) will be announced at halftime of the UC-State basketball game that will be played on Saturday, March 2, at Institute. Game time is noon.

Donors are asked to schedule an appointment to give blood on those days. You can schedule yours at https://www.redcrossblood.org/. The keyword is uoc.

Every two seconds, someone in the US needs blood: accident and burn victims, those undergoing surgery, those battling cancer, and more. Because there is such an ongoing need, blood drives are critical to having adequate supplies on hand.
