Physician Assistant Program Announces 100% Pass Rate
The University of Charleston Physician Assistant Program Class of 2023 has achieved a pass rate of 100% for first-time test-takers on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE). The program graduated 29 students in April.
This year’s national average for first attempt pass rate is 93%. For the past four cohorts, the UC PA program has graduated students with first-time test-taker pass rates above the national average.
Under the direction of Teresa Preston, this accomplishment showcases the faculty’s commitment to excellence and the perseverance of our PA students.
The UC Physician Assistant Program is designed to train outstanding physician assistants, able to handle the challenges of practicing medicine in a complex healthcare system. The program emphasizes a holistic approach – students learn to think critically, solve complex medical problems, utilize evidence to make excellent decisions at the point of care, and communicate effectively with colleagues, other healthcare professionals, and patients of different backgrounds.
