Professor Catherine Wright Receives Award

UC English Professor Catherine Wright was recognized with the Open Learning West Virginia Educator Award from the WV Higher Education policy Commission. The award was announced at the Open Learning WV Statewide Convening on April 7- 8, 2022 in Charleston.

This is the first year the award has been given, and Wright earned it for her adoption of Open Education Resources in her classes last semester.

The award honors an individual who has excelled at adopting, creating and/or using open education resources in the classroom, thinking creatively and intentionally about pedagogy and the role course materials play in student learning.

The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and the Community and Technical College System of West Virginia presented the in-person convening focused on the adoption and scale of Open Education Resources (OER) across the state. Over the last year, the Commission/Council have provided Open Learning WV grant opportunities to over 120 faculty to support their OER efforts.
