Selective Internship Program Offers Health System Practice Experience

Aminah Anderson, a P2 student at the UC School of Pharmacy, has been accepted into the Johns Hopkins Pharmacy Internship Program. This 9-week summer internship program offers pharmacy students a structured learning experience intended to provide exposure to health system pharmacy practice.

Only about 20 students are selected each year nationwide, and internships take place at one of three locations: The Johns Hopkins Hospital, East Baltimore Campus; Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and Johns Hopkins Home Care Group. Interns are assigned a location, and typically work 40 hours per week and complete a minimum of 9 consecutive weeks.

According to Johns Hopkins, the program “supports and guides the student intern while allowing them to profess at their own pace based upon their experiences and interests.”
