Former UC Wide Receiver Selected in Round 7 of NFL Draft

 

The Indianapolis Colts have selected the Michael Strachan in the seventh round (229th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.

During his 2019 season as a Golden Eagle, Strachan finished second among Division II wide receivers in receiving touchdowns, fifth in receiving yards per game, sixth in receiving yards and ninth in receptions. He was a First-Team All-MEC selection for two straight years, and an American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Second-Team All-American honoree. Strachan also set single-season school records in receptions (78), receiving yards (1,319) and receiving touchdowns (19).

After his selection, Strachan said “I’m all in with the Colts. I love this organization and I just appreciate them giving me a chance. It just means the world to me and my family.”

Another former Golden Eagle, Kenny Randall, was signed as a free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Randall, 25, played college football at NCAA Division II University of Charleston in 2015 and from 2018-19.
