Grant Staff Accountant

The Grant Accountant provides accounting and reporting support for the University’s grant funded programs and projects.

 

Essential Functions of the job:

  • Prepares budget and expense reports
  • Monitors grant ledger account activity
  • Distributes invoices for project reimbursements
  • Submits funding drawdown requests
  • Monitors cash on hand for each grant program to balance with expenses
  • Communicates financial position of the grant program with the program staff
  • Ensures compliance of grants with internal and external program requirements
  • Monitors effort reporting
  • Completes grant close out functions
  • Assists with annual audit of grant activity
  • Provides assistance with grant applications
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Required
  • Accounting Experience 3 – 5 Years
  • Knowledge of approved accounting procedures
  • Microsoft office product experience (Word, Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills for internal and external customers
