The University of Charleston School of Pharmacy seeks applicants for Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the Ambulatory Care practice area. The School of Pharmacy is an instrument of the University of Charleston, designed to prepared pharmacists who will provide comprehensive patient care, advance the profession through research and advocacy, and to serve the community as leaders in rural health care. The school of Pharmacy fosters active participation of faculty, staff, and students in an agenda of community outreach, advocacy, and activism as one of the hallmarks of the pharmacy program. The University of Charleston’s School of Pharmacy offers an integrated curriculum that seeks to develop pharmacy practitioners who can effectively communicate with diverse populations and work as an integral member of the healthcare delivery team.
Essential Functions of the Position:
The faculty position is full-time, non-tenure track (rank and salary commensurate with skills and experience). The practice site for this position is at a local Charleston, WV area clinic.
Support the vision and mission of the School of Pharmacy and the University through teaching in the professional pharmacy curriculum
Provide pharmacy services to identified clinical practice sites
Participate in scholarly activities
Be an active member of the School of Pharmacy and University committees
Improve patient health outcomes in the state and region
Qualified candidates should have the Pharm.D. degree, completion of one or two-year pharmacy residency (or equivalent practice experience) and be eligible for licensure in West Virginia. A high degree of knowledge of standards and current trends in pharmacy practice, particularly in the area of ambulatory care and previous academic experience, is highly desired.
