Travis has been in higher education since 2012 where he has worked as an adjunct instructor, admissions representative, and career services director. Prior to that he worked in financial services. He obtained his Doctor of Executive leadership degree from the University of Charleston, where his research interests included the impact of forgiveness on leadership and Positive Leadership theory. As a native West Virginian, he is passionate about education and economic development in the Mountain State.
Travis lives in Wayne, WV with his wife Kim, a special education teacher. They enjoy animals and have three dogs (Jasmine, Ariel, & Belle), two cats (Aladdin & Peanutbutter), a rabbit and chickens. Travis plays the banjo and was a longtime member of the Mountain Shadows bluegrass band. Travis and Kim are members of Laurel Freewill Baptist Church in Wayne.
