University of Charleston

Charleston, W.Va., November 22, 2019  – The University of Charleston’s December Commencement will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, in Riggleman Hall’s Geary Auditorium, as approximately 130 graduates are scheduled to receive diplomas.

The graduates represent the Charleston campus, Beckley location, and online students. Of the graduates, 64 will receive an undergraduate degree and 67 will receive a graduate degree, including students from the former Argosy University, which closed suddenly, leaving students without a clear path to graduation until other schools – including UC – created agreements to help them.

The commencement speaker will be NBA great and noted philanthropist David “The Admiral” Robinson, who will also receive an honorary degree.

In addition to the main ceremony, the university’s Capito Department of Nursing will hold its pinning ceremony Thursday, December 5, at 6:30 p.m., and the School of Business and Leadership will hold its hooding ceremony Friday, December 6 at 6:00 p.m. Both events will be held in the Geary Auditorium.
