Each year the University of Charleston Concert Choir and University Singers tour a portion of the United States of America. Past tours have included trips to New York City, Washington, DC, Maryland, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The spring 2004 trip included Ohio, Michigan, and Chicago, Illinois. Choir tours are always fun and rewarding; a chance to meet new friendsand cement old relationships. For many talented students traveling as part of a touring choir is the first time their performance skills have a tangible reward.

University Singers/Concert Choir ON TOUR...
Benefits of Joining
UC Choir and Concert Singers

"In high school, I was always a member of the choir, but I never got the full experience until I joined Concert Choir and University Singers.
There is no greater feeling than being part of a group whose main focus is to create a beautiful sound. Each individual brings something unique to
the group to make one beautiful sound."
- Erin Williamson, Soprano
UC Concert Choir & University Singers

"Last Semester I was able to go with our choir to four places on tour. It was the first time I have ever 'toured.' The experience that I gained from that was absolutely unforgetable. Along with touring in Colulmbus, Cleveland, Michigan, and Chicago, we (the choir) have visited other churches, centers, and museums where I have connected with the community more than ever."

"Those of us in the music program, whether we're faculty, music majors, non-majors, are often called upon to represent the university. We use our musical talent to entertain, to educate, and to heal. Perhaps one of the most moving moments was when the Concert Choir was asked to sing at a post 9/11 memorial service. The auditorium was full of grieving and frightened people and our music
helped to bind the community together. Those of us in the music program see the power of our music in the faces of many people as we sing concerts on tour and on campus. I hope you will join us and use your talent to make a difference in people's lives."
