·           National Merit Finalist

·           Academic GPA 3.8

Tuition, room and board

Provost

·           ACT score of 28 or higher or SAT score of
 1250 or higher

·           Academic GPA 3.5

Tuition and Room; Awarded to 15 qualifying candidates; Can not be combined with any other awards

Welch Colleague Scholarship

·           Responses on the Experience UC Day application and essay

·           High School GPA 3.0

·           Involvement during EUC Day

·           Past and/or current community 
involvement and leadership

Receive $12,500 toward tuition; Awarded to 25 qualifying students; Must reside on campus; Can not be combined with any other awards, including athletic awards

Capitol Scholarship

·          ACT score of 24 or higher

·          SAT score of 1100 or higher

·          Academic GPA of 3.0

Receive $10,500 toward tuition

Promise Plus Scholarship

·          ACT score of 21 with 20 on each subscore, or

·          SAT score of 1000 with 490 on verbal and 480 in math

·          Academic GPA 3.0

Receive $8,500 if residential student, $5,000 if commuter

 

Kanawha Valley Grant

·          Students from Kanawha, Putnam, Boone, Logan, Clay, Jackson, Raleigh, Lincoln, Roane  and Fayette counties qualify

$7,000 per year toward tuition

Alumni Scholarship

·           Parent graduated from University of Charleston or Morris Harvey College

$1,000 per year toward tuition

 

 

Several other scholarship opportunities exist, including athletic scholarships, music scholarships and Leadership & Involvement scholarships.  These programs are designed to help make a high-quality private university education affordable.  

 

The University of Charleston Office of Financial Aid works with each student individually to put together the very best financial aid package.  In order to be considered for scholarships and financial aid at the University of Charleston, students are required to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
