5/14/2012 - Rho Chi Inductees
Thirty University of Charleston student pharmacists and seven UC pharmacy graduates inducted into the inaugural chapter of Rho Chi, the academic honor society in pharmacy, on Thursday, April 26. The Delta Lambda chapter is the 107th active chapter of the organization.  Inductees must be in the top 20% of their class and have achieved a GPA of 3.0 or better.

Charleston, W.Va. – The Board of Trustees of the University of Charleston decided today not to open a branch of its pharmacy school in Paintsville, Kentucky.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Learning from books is important for Zelalem Tizazu. He committed five years of his life in his native Ethiopia reading, learning at school about becoming a pharmacist. When it came to hands-on, clinical experience to earn his doctorate, Tizazu looked beyond his own borders. 3/26/2012 - UC Diabetes Management Program at Roane General Receives AADE Accreditation
Charleston, W.Va. – The University of Charleston’s Diabetes Management Program at Roane General Hospital was officially accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) on January 12. The AADE awards this distinction to programs that meet national standards for diabetes self-management education, as a way to certify that hospitals and others offer comprehensive, effective education for their patients with diabetes.

2/26/2012 - UC School of Pharmacy could open campus in Kentucky

1/11/2012 - University of Charleston and Midway College Announce Plans for Pharmacy Program at Midway's Paintsville Campus
Charleston, W.Va.  – The University of Charleston in West Virginia and Midway College in Kentucky announced an initiative that would educate more pharmacists for rural Kentucky at a press conference today on the University of Charleston campus.   The two schools have signed a letter of intent outlining the basics of a proposal for the University of Charleston to establish and operate a branch of its pharmacy school at the Midway College Paintsville campus.
