- The Golden Eagle Athletic Club (GEAC) is open to UC parents! The GEAC provides support for all of the Golden Eagle athletic teams, and undertakes projects that benefit University of Charleston student-athletes. Your membership plays a vital role in the success of the Club and UC athletics. Annual membership dues assist in providing enthusiastic support for UC teams at home and away contests; social gatherings, awards banquets and other functions for UC student-athletes; improvements to UC athletic facilities; and purchases of additional equipment. - The University of Charleston ranks above the 90th percentile on the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Though the University of Charleston fares well in the annual college rankings, the NSSE is being viewed nationally as a more accurate, effective means of measuring the impact the institutions are having on the actual educational experiences of the students. In other words, instead of emphasizing prestige and selectivity, it measures effectiveness and quality of student learning. The site contains links to articles written by The Christian Science Monitor, The New York Times, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and National Public Radio.
