Charleston, W.Va. - The University of Charleston will hold its 126th Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 4th, at the University campus. While not all students will participate in the commencement ceremonies, this year’s graduating class includes 280 students from all UC locations (Charleston, Beckley, Martinsburg and online), and will include candidates for 160 bachelor’s degrees, 44 master’s degrees and 76 doctorate recipients.
These students represent all areas of West Virginia, as well as 21 other states and four foreign countries. There are 17 undergraduate honors students (earning a 3.90 or higher grade point), and 23 students who earned graduate awards and recognition.
Graduates also showcase the range of academic opportunity within the University: degree candidates include students from the School of Arts and Sciences, both undergraduate and graduate students from the School of Business and Leadership, the School of Health Sciences and the School of Pharmacy.
Senior of the Year, chosen by committee from a group of 11 outstanding students, will be announced during the commencement ceremony.
