Pharmacy Students Advance in the ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge

University of Charleston School of Pharmacy student pharmacists Kenneth Canipe, Anthony Nguyen and Brittany Richter advanced to Round 2 in the ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge!  The ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge is a team-based competition.  Teams of three students compete against teams from other schools and colleges of pharmacy in a ‘quiz bowl’ type format.  Preliminary rounds of the national competition are being conducted virtually in September.  86 Schools of Pharmacy participated in Round 1 of the competition Thursday, September 8, 2011.  64 Schools of Pharmacy advanced to Round 2, which will take place Monday, September 12, 2011.  The competition is composed of pharmacy related questions in three formats:  Trivia, Clinical Cases and Jeopardy.  Winners of the local competitions will compete live in the quarterfinal, semifinal and final rounds at the annual ACCP Meeting in Pittsburgh in October 15-17, 2011.  Dr. Kristy Lucas is the team advisor.
