Charleston, W.Va. – Over 150 University of Charleston students and faculty from various majors are scheduled to present across campus on their research at the 2013 Academic Showcase tomorrow, April 9, from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
This Academic Showcase highlights the many topics researched throughout the 2013-14 academic school year by UC students. Presentations this year are wide ranging, from “Is Mammography or Thermography More Accurate When Discovering and Diagnosing Breast Cancer in Younger Women?” and “The Effects of Social Media on Its Users ” to “The Mystery of Words: A Solution to West Virginia’s Literacy Problem.” Some students present their work through poster presentations, while others step in front of their professors and peers in classrooms across campus.
The Honors Convocation will begin at 5 p.m. in Riggleman Hall’s Geary Auditorium, with top students from around campus being honored for their hard work in and out of the classroom.
