Charleston, W.Va. – The University of Charleston’s largest December Commencement on record will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, in Riggleman Hall’s Geary Auditorium, as 106 graduates are slated to walk across the stage.
Of the 106 graduates, 49 will receive their bachelor’s, 41 will receive their master’s and six will earn their doctoral degree.
Charles Patton, president and chief operating officer (COO) for Appalachian Power, will serve as commencement speaker. Patton oversees service to 1 million electric customers in West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee. He has approximately 26 years in the electric utility business and has served in numerous capacities throughout AEP, including AEP executive vice president- AEP Utilities West, senior vice president for regulatory and public policy, and AEP Texas president and COO.
