Charleston, W.Va. – The University of Charleston Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team will host the third annual High School Business Ethics Case Competition in Geary Student Union today from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
This year’s High School Business Ethics Case Competition features over 70 students participating from schools such as Bridgeport, George Washington, Greenbrier West, Nitro, Riverside, Sissonville and Williamstown high schools, as well as Mason County Career & Technical Center. Teams are split into leagues and given 30 minutes to analyze and prepare a presentation of an ethics case. Judges select a winning team from each league to move on to the finals. Advancing teams will then be given another case and 45 minutes to analyze and prepare a presentation.
The competition is two rounds and first, second, and third place teams will be chosen by a panel of judges to receive $1,000, $750 and $500 in prize money, respectively. BB&T and Gibbons & Kawash return as sponsors for the competition.
