Charleston, W.Va. – Full-time enrollment at the University of Charleston this fall is the second highest it has been in 40 years. The official count is 1,391 full-time students, an increase of four percent over last year’s 1,339. This is part of a 60% increase in the past twelve years, during which the university’s full-time enrollment has grown from 835 in 2000 to the current 1,339.
Total enrollment including part-time students is 1,445. The student body includes 109 international students from 34 countries. Growth has been fueled by 46 transfer students from Mountain State University, as well as the recent addition of a doctoral program in pharmacy and a new downtown graduate school of business. UC’s physician assistant program is set to enroll its first cohort in January.
