Charleston, WV - UC School of Pharmacy professor Angel Kimble and other select health care professionals who specialize in diabetes education were invited in August to Roche Diagnostic's headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, to attend the Creative Coaching program.
The theme of the program was “Creative Coaching: New strategies to inspire your patients to make simple connections.” The goal was for diabetes educators to understand how to build patient engagement by understanding adult learning principles, allowing for a more patient-focused and results-oriented educational experience. The group also had an opportunity to network, visit the blood glucose test strip manufacturing plant, and watch the customer support call center in action. Prior to departure, each participant was given a toolbox and supporting materials produced by Roche to help patients achieve their diabetes goals.
