Special Education is a multicategorical certification available to students in all certification areas. Special Education provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to create an educational environment that reduces barriers to learning and provides appropriate support for the learner. The student acquires techniques for presenting information in ways appropriate for diverse learning styles and needs, learns techniques for motivating and challenging diverse students, and designs alternatives for assessing student achievement.
Students desiring to add the Special Education certification to their program must complete the courses below.
