James David Barber Collection of Presidential Biographies

THis extensive collection of biographies of United States Presidents and their wives was used by The American Historian and Political scientist James David Barber in The preparation of His books about The American Presidency. These include Choosing The President (1974), The Lawmakers (1965), Power in Committees (1966), Politics by HuMans (1988), The Book of Democracy (1995), and several editions of the standard Political science text The Presidential Character. The collection was presented to The University of Charleston by Dr. Barber in 1995.
