The Graduate School of Business at the University of Charleston is accepting applications for its inaugural class that will begin studies in August at the beginning of the 2008 fall semester. The fast-track three-year Master of Business and Leadership (MBAL) program is open to undergraduate students upon completion of their sophomore year.

The curriculum will specialize in developing dynamic business leaders through a program that will provide daily exposure and involvement with business leaders engaged in entrepreneurial economic development designed to create wealth in West Virginia. It will allow students to effectively communicate with business leaders, analyze problems, convey solutions and develop entrepreneurial, communications and leadership skills.

Students will be an integral part of business start-ups. They will be exposed to venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and domestic and international business development. Core MBA disciplines in research and quantitative methods, economics, financial management, and investment strategies will complete the program.

The school is located in a unique building in downtown Charleston, West Virginia. It is strategically placed on the second floor of a state-of-the art business center that will be populated by some of West Virginia’s most aggressive entrepreneurs who will be engaged in aggressively merging, acquiring and growing businesses in multiple sectors.

The program will specialize in experiential education, providing unique structured and specialized internships with area businesses, non-profit organizations and government.
Its location in a dynamic center of business activity will assure hands-on visits by state, regional and national visiting leaders.
