Degree Qualifications Profile (DQP) Consortium
The Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) selected the University of Charleston as one of twenty-five institutions to test the applicability of the Lumina Foundation’s Degree Qualifications Profile (DQP) to private, independent higher education. The two-year project is being funded by Lumina.
The DQP outlines the skills and knowledge students are expected to possess by the time they earn an associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degree.
The University of Charleston’s project applies the DQP model to our own, six Liberal Learning Outcomes, with a particular emphasis on articulating the expectations for student expression of those outcomes at the graduate level. This is particularly important as the institution increases its emphasis on graduate education.
