1.         Collaborative Research

  • Fellow, AACP Academic Research Fellows Program (ARFP) 2013-14. It is a year-long program designed to expand the leadership capabilities of established faculty research scientists or administrators to cultivate collaborative team research and graduate education across institutions. I gained experience in research-focused leadership development; team building; development of innovative research strategies to secure funding from federal and other public and private sources. I also gained insight into the dynamics, management, institutional structures and policies that affect research teams; and have the opportunity to network with successful research leaders and advocacy groups and finally participated in a collaborative group project.
  • Antibreast cancer drug discovery in collaboration with Drs H Koc, DPSR and E Koc SoM.
  • Antiparasitic drug discovery research in collaboration with Dr. Babu Tekwani, Principal Scientist and Professor of Pharmacology, University of Mississippi under a material transfer agreement.
  • I am also an important contributor and active collaborator for the research in the area of anti-breast cancer drug discovery with Dr. Musa, assistant professor of Department of Chemistry of Florida A&M University.
  • Dr. Taufiq Ur Rahman, Lecturer, University of Cambridge, UK, who is conducting the molecular modeling studies against estrogen receptor for our research activity in the area of breast cancer. We have already published one paper that included his docking study results.
  • Dr. Tim Hubin, Professor of Chemistry, Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Numerous collaborative researches are underway in the area of anti-infective drug discovery based on macrocyclic polyamine derivatives. Multiple high impact research articles and one patent has been produced. A material transfer agreement has been created.
  • Dr. Jennifer Keiser, Helminth Drug Development Unit, Department of Medical Parasitology and Infection Biology, Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, Basel, Switzerland. We published a research article on anti-schistosomiasis drug discovery.
